Avalon Towers

Featuring retail, office, residential, and marina typologies, this mixed-use, high-rise community concept was designed with the view of Lake Michigan in mind. Tasked with creating the tallest building in the West Michigan region while capturing the beauty of the natural landscape and waterscape, Avalon Towers is oriented on a curve-like axis outward to maximize views and waterfront square footage. Set in Muskegon, Michigan, the marina and mixed-use community design features luxury amenities, green space, boat slips, and pedestrian walkability in an intuitive organization of space on a shoreline peninsula and an unusual park-like roof structure that connects the three towers on a horizontal plane.

Michillinda

The Michillinda Beach Resort is a densely populated, walkable, and traditional style neighborhood development in Whitehall, Michigan. Featuring a mix of large and small lots in close proximity to the waterfront, the Michillinda Beach Resort is a small, lakefront community of mixed-use properties from single-family and multi-family to condominiums. The result is a pedestrian-centric, waterfront destination complete with pavilions and a boardwalk along the shore.

Gray Drake Lodge

When Orvis, a family-owned retail company specializing in fly fishing and sporting goods, tapped Visbeen to design a comprehensive resort destination on the riverfront in Newaygo, Michigan, the resulting master plan featured a classic lodge in old Americana aesthetic and other amenities. Featuring classic lodge grandeur like vaulted ceilings and big timber amid woods and wildlife, and resort-style rooms on the Muskegon River, the Gray Drake Lodge was designed with the avid fly fisher and outdoors person in mind.
