TV Personality
Visbeen has captured the attention of clients and audiences alike with more than his skillful ability to put creative pen to paper as he also uses his personality and the spoken word to engage the public in dialogue about design, architecture, and playful spaces. Throughout his career, Visbeen has been involved in a number of interviews and television programs such as previously a part of Playhouse Masters on TLC, as well as participate on Viewpoint with Dennis Quaid, an independent program and production team providing unique and education content to Public Television partners. During an episode on architecture, Visbeen was a featured guest of the show and discussed his firm’s unique approach to design.
Charmed Playhouses
In 2010, Tyson Leavitt witnessed Visbeen in action as he worked through his live design process, ultimately connecting with Visbeen several years later with the idea to launch a playhouse company that would become known as Charmed Playhouses. Upon designing 25 playhouse concepts in a one-day session and garnering the attention of a production crew, Visbeen created a bridge-inspired playhouse complete with slide and basketball hoop with Stephen Curry and his family in mind in-real-time before the television crew. The intent was to showcase the design process and talented team of professionals behind the company, and once completed, the playhouse was posted on social media and ultimately picked up by Ayesha Curry, Canadian-American actress, author, and television personality. Visbeen and the team then traveled to San Francisco to connect with Steph Curry and Ayesha Curry to design a playhouse for their daughter Riley in-person.
Steph Curry
Upon walking the property and sitting down at the kitchen table with Steph Curry and his family, Visbeen quickly learned daughter Riley had a love of horses. Inspired by the Spanish Colonial style house and Riley’s affinity for the horses, Visbeen began sketching 10-to-15 different concepts in real time to come up with a playhouse design that captured the essence of an Argentinian Estancia, or horse stable, and really spoke to the family. The design captured elements of the Spanish-inspired architecture of their current home with a love of horses. His ability to listen and identify his clients vision led to a well-defined playhouse tailored to the Curry family and sparked excitement for all.
Miscellaneous Playhouses
From pirate ships, fairy tale-inspired towers, and tree houses connected by a rope bridge, to mill-wheel cottages, and mushroom houses, Visbeen has crafted playful spaces that spark the inner child in all. With slides, stairs, swings, and ladders, each playhouse creation captures a quintessential element of inspiration and offers moments of delight for all those who step within them.
